CHALLENGER'S RAP

• rushing the board, knocking the competition to the floor
• the clock is ticking
• i've just gotten up from another heavy licking
• it's fucked up how the system treats the poor and the vulnerable
• if someone calls for help what is it that they receive?
• a warm bed and a hot meal?
• or the cold confines of a cement box with metal doors?
• feeding on rotten apples with worms burrowed in the core

• this ain't some doctor seuss
• it's running through the streets while vicious dogs are being let loose
• trade it all in for a caribbean cruise and a long spa retreat
• bring your boo
• to share what it feels like to actually get a full night of relaxing sleep

• my words cut deep, i'm out in the night playin' the creep
• the price is steep and my brain just burns out
• all these concussions have been keeping my life in a waking coma
• a dramatic nightmare of lost connections and leftover ashes
• cut a gash in my heart and let the blood spill
• spit my flow with a stumbling cadence
• wishing I could just find the path to healing and happy embraces
• tripping over my own feet with undone laces
• put the block on blast only to realize my own disgrace
• still i'm putting down the steps
• repetitions upon repetitions, even if they're mostly bad decisions
• speeding into a fatal collision with no vision

• yeah, my complaints are here without restraint
• might just talk about how the world is and how it ain't
• money won't buy it
• love won't confine it
• living just one more day is an act of defiance
• it's hard to come together
• it's natural for arch enemies to remain opposed to an alliance
• stating the obvious
• feeling totally oblivious
• write a book
• write a scripture
• a manifesto if you will
• make it worthwhile and play with rhyme and grammar
• put that soliloquy into action
• cut the bars into fractions
• mix 'em with masterful interactions
• bring it all about
