How did you get started making music, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been making music since the 4th grade. I started producing when I was 13 after listening to the Bangarang EP from skrillex. I got my dad's laptop, Fruity Loops and started making dubstep under the name ghostboy.

What equipment/software do you use to make beats?

Logic Pro X, Akai MPK49, Bose Quiet Comfort 15, Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio

What are some of your musical influences, or people you look up to in the industry?

Diplo, Flosstradamus, Skrillex, Jay Park, Snoop, Major Lazer, 808 Mafia, Misogi, Baauer.

What would you say is distinctive about your production?

I wouldn't say my beats are very distinctive I just make fire shit. I try to make diverse beats even though my name is trapezoid. I don't think my beats are any different to those of other producers. The distinctive thing about me is that I can make many genres not only trap. I can make trap, hip hop, r&b, reggae, future, and more. My beat can be compared to 808 Mafia and the workflow was pretty straight forward when I worked with them.

What do you like to do for fun outside of music?

When I'm not making music I'm listening to music and getting influenced or watching tutorials on YouTube. I also love watching and making movies, food, and cooking, and spending time with my girl but mostly I'm just thinking of making beats.

What's next for you - what will you be up to in the coming months?

I just got accepted to London School Of Sound where I'll be taking a mixing and mastering course in July. I will get my own place in August where I can set up my studio and start getting more serious on music.

Trapezoid is this week's cypher producer. Check out the cypher here.
