Lyrical Analysis of...
78 BPM
- Wear a masc during the day, but play F balls at night,
- a lot of folks trying to block out my light
- I shine bright like a ninety Watt bulb,
- I'm only fifteen but lately I've been feeling old.
- I told my momma some of the things on my mind,
- a bit of understanding's a rarer find.
- I took my time in my classes,
- all my teachers hope he passes
- But all of them got the wrong idea,
- it ain't their fault, more like a strong ideal
- and though it's hurtful to observe on this Earth
- I can't blame them for the things that they don't know.
- I explained computers to the Laymen,
- now I barely play 'em.
- I guess I should've kept on trying
- now it's hard to keep on staying.
- I wore a mask at day, my momma told me to take it off,
- my dad was more understanding when we talked
- I look to the future and see what I've lost,
- the ways in which I've grown, sighed and let out a groan
- In fifth grade I thought I was Capone,
- in tenth grade I got tarred, feathered and stoned
- Most nights I look to the sky and feel so alone,
- when others my age just wish to listen to a moan.
- I spoke my mind, every once in a time,
- regretted it a lot until I learned to read the signs
- My future places me in office work,
- my ambition told me to pursue music.
- And even though I might never meet my idols,
- maybe my fate's for the better
- I hope I don't get sued for libel,
- 'cause I write everything in my letters.
