Lyrical Analysis of...
A Review Of KO-Doomzday's Album Done Proved Myself
- //Intro//
- Hey everyone, back for another album made by KO Doomzday
- His last album was fantastic, I gave it an 8.7 and now
- Going off the description alone, I think this might be an improvement from it
- So excited for this one, anyway let's get into it
- //Track 1: Long Time//
- Great intro track, the lyricism shown is great, the flow is good as well
- The skit is decent, helps get the story and fill in the blanks
- The rapping overall is something of great beauty, no meat riding
- Pretty great this track
- I feel a: 8.2/10
- //Track 2: Breath Easy (Freestyle)//
- I'm not going to lie, I'm shocked this is only a freestyle
- It feels like a fully thought out track, the lyricism and rhyme schemes are
- Top notch, the flows is incredibly good, it's one long verse but oh my word
- Is it good, the rapping is better than his previous track
- Overall: 9/10
- //Track 3: Middle Class Life//
- Another incredible track, he was not lying when he said there are just
- Lyrical bangers on the album, nothing more, nothing less
- The rhyme schemes and lyricism paired with the flow is great
- So far so good
- Feeling a: 8.5/10
- //Track 4: Struggle Evolution//
- This track may be the weakest so far, not because its bad or anything
- More because its the least lyrical, and the weakest flow
- But its still a good track, not the best on here is all
- Overall: 8/10
- //Track 5: Leisure (w/ Symbiote)//
- This track is great on KO's side of things
- The lyricism and flow he brings to the table is great
- Symbiote has great flow but his lyricism needs some work
- Everything else is great from him just the lyricism is weak
- At least compared to other lyricists on this record
- Overall: 8.6/10 still great
- //Track 6: Done Proved Myself//
- Incredible track, the lyricism is some of the best on here
- The flow is everchanging and non repetitive
- The rhyme schemes are nice and cohesive, this track is just great
- He's at his best on this track, no doubt
- Feeling a: 9.2/10
- //Track 7: Point Of View (w/HarryTrevPev)//
- KO's verses bring more of the same from Done Proved Myself
- The lyricism and rhyme schemes are fantastic, the wordplay is great
- The flows are not his best but still good and nice to read
- Harry's Verse is incredible and packed with rhymes and lyricism
- Great flow as well, he really brought his A game to this track
- I'm thinking a: 9.1/10
- //Track 8: Breath (Interlude)//
- Nice, short and sweet, the track feels more like a verse
- The rapping and lyricism is pretty good and for an interlude
- This track is great, one of the better interludes I've seen
- Overall: 8/10
- Track 9: Need Wrath//
- This track is the most like his previous projects like, Bubonia and ACWNG
- Great structuring and placement, though it sacrifices a bit in lyricism
- And flow, but its still a great track I think you should read
- Overall: 8.3/10
- //Track 10: Got Ya Self Cornered (Interlude)//
- This track is great, back to more of the same great lyricism and flow
- From this LP, this track may be one of the best interludes I've read
- The rapping on it is incredible overall, feel like the album is kicking into
- Final gear
- Feeling a: 8.9/10
- //Track 11: Str8 Lyrics//
- This track is perfect for what its meant to be
- A lyrical banger with incredible flows and unpredictable rhyme schemes
- Dizzying wordplay, with some of the best bars I've seen in a while
- This track is fantastic and may be the best one the album
- I'm feeling a: 9.3/10
- //Track 12: Sky's What You Stand On (w/ HarryTrevPev)//
- Remember the previous track, yeah this track may be better
- KO has arguably his best verses on the whole LP with the best flows
- The lyricism on them is next level and introspective at times
- Some of the best rapping from him
- Harry's verse is also one of the best on the mixtape, the flow, lyricism
- And rhyme schemes, are top tier and insanely great, the song, a chef's kiss
- I'm feeling a: 9.5/10
- //Track 13: Separate Art From The Activist//
- This poem is incredibly deep and introspective
- Its great and heart paining, its gut wrenching, you can see the pain
- In his words, he's not trying to sugar coat anything he is saying
- This poem is the most incredible thing on the whole mixtape
- I Love this track more than anything on here, its one of the best I've seen
- On this site, maybe the best I've seen
- 10/10
- //Lyricism//
- The lyricism is the best I've ever seen from KO in his career
- He brought the best he could throughout the whole mixtape/LP
- I don't think many could match the pure lyricism he brings on here
- He is one of the best lyricists I've seen on here
- Overall: 9/10
- //Flow//
- It's good, nothing to be mad about with the flow
- It may get repetitive at times, but those are few and far between
- Other than that, the flow is good, certainly not bad
- Overall: 7.6/10
- //Cohesion//
- It's quite cohesive, not as cohesive as his previous project
- But still very cohesive and nothing really feels out of place
- Quite the great thing actually, nothing to not like here
- Overall: 8.1/10
- //Choruses//
- They are more consistent on here than his previous work
- But that's many because there's less of them on here
- They are all good choruses, not a single mid or bad one on the LP
- But mainly because there's less which means more consistency
- Overall: 7.7/10
- //Verses//
- The verses are a thing of beauty, the combining of good flow
- Great rhyming and great wordplay, no bad verse throughout
- Some verses are better than others, but when the rappers are at their best
- The verses are incredible, whether it's a lyrical verse from KO and Harry
- Or a flow heavy verse of Symbiote, it's always at a minimum decent
- Overall: 9/10
- //Instrumentals//
- Most of them are quite chill and calm, really just ear candy most of the time
- Really nice and rich instrumentals throughout, no misses or weird placement
- Love the instrumentals and beats
- Overall: 8.7/10
- //Final Thoughts//
- This record is definitely better than his last project, which was incredible
- The pen game on here was beautifully done, no meat riding
- The tracks are great on their own, not held by the albums narrative
- Maybe this is also his best project ever, maybe even better than TPAT
- Which is a classic in my eyes, in my opinion this is a
- //Score//
- Giving this a: 9.1/10
- Did you love it, hate it, like it, dislike it, let me know what you think
