Lyrical Analysis of...
Mom [2024]
- Where should start with how I feel?
- The victories we've had or the wounds that never healed?
- Over 22 years growing up in that home,
- I still don't know what's the first word I ever spoke;
- And besides the conflict with my siblings,
- There was a point you helped stop it from getting risky,
- The times where you were always there for my school,
- Made sure my grades were fair, and I knew
- That I had parents that really cared for me,
- There would be areas we couldn't bare to piece
- Back together, needed therapy, I swear on each
- Day that things will get better, stop being scared to flee;
- That's what you taught me, even it led to trauma,
- Stopped speaking to listen, instead get caught on
- A web, I can't evolve cuz the horror that went on,
- In that house, I still come out saying to my mother:
- //Hook 1:01
- Strongest woman I know,
- You tell me where to go,
- You always made sure I wouldn't fall in a hole;
- The things you sacrificed,
- Every day of your life,
- You will be so tired on the day you retire;
- I'm thankful for you,
- Every sun and each moon,
- In the end it will all be worth it real soon,
- Know you're a good Mom;
- But one thing about you that's brought to mind,
- Is that you feel like someone attacks you all the time,
- We can't yell or curse at you no matter what,
- But since we were babies, you mostly did that for months;
- And I'm getting very sick of all your religious talks,
- You think demons and devils are in us per minute huh?
- Now the family is turning on each other, drifting apart,
- With all them flaws, I still turn around and say this in a song:
- //Hook 1:52
- Strongest woman I know,
- You tell me where to go,
- You always made sure I wouldn't fall in a hole;
- The things you sacrificed,
- Every day of your life,
- You will be so tired on the day you retire;
- I'm thankful for you,
- Every sun and each moon,
- In the end it will all be worth it real soon,
- You're a really great Mom;
- Pushed me away to college, hoping that i make new friendships,
- Now you're home, angry I'm not there, wishing for my presence,
- Make up your mind Mom! I can't do this anymore!
- You've become more toxic, and yes I know I'm very poor!
- It's not me blaming you for anything, I'd never do that,
- But there are things you did that it seemed spoon fed,
- I could say more, but my point about you both is proven,
- No one is perfect, so I know you've been the
- //Hook 2:53 End
- Strongest woman I know,
- You tell me where to go,
- You always made sure I wouldn't fall in a hole;
- The things you sacrificed,
- Every day of your life,
- You will be so tired on the day you retire;
- I'm thankful for you,
- No one can prove,
- That you are no good for me, cuz I lived in you,
- Do not give up Mom;
- Love you so much [4x]
