Lyrical Analysis of...

This World

  1. You know the country is down the drain
  2. when I feel more human when police cause me pain;
  3. Least then I'm given attention,
  4. because my race's hate is a permanent detention
  5. and when it comes to beat downs there is just no prevention.
  6. Walking the streets, feeling so alone
  7. all I got is some weed
  8. some cash
  9. and my shitty old cell phone.
  10. Everyone I know is in some sort of gang,
  11. either now dead, bleeding out, at least one thing has caused a pang,
  12. but they gotta stay within them if they wanna survive,
  13. because whilst we out here rotting the cops and wealthy still thrive.
  14. Too self centred to spare a nickel,
  15. whilst out here I watch my best friend's blood trickle,
  16. down the whole road and sidewalk
  17. there's so much red I'm panicking, man,
  18. because if he was conscious he'd say that these bullet wounds don't tickle,
  19. nothing but a crowd watching over my shoulder
  20. this murder probably won't even get documented in a folder
  21. and by the time it is, we'll all be older
  22. some of us dead and the rest more aggressive and bolder.
  23.
  24. Because this world is fucked now,
  25. racial hate around every corner,
  26. it is torture.
  27. Some of us will say it will go away,
  28. but that will never ever be true, it's here to stay.
  29. The black community is seen as some sort of animals
  30. but despite your rumors, at the end of the day
  31. we all share this Earth, we're all damn smart mammals.
  32. Skin colour don't mean a thing,
  33. and if the whole world had that view
  34. then this wouldn't be something I need to sing.
  35.
  36. Newspaper on the doorstep today,
  37. saying a black man was beaten to death, Tuesday.
  38. This doesn't even make front page,
  39. but when a white man is murdered
  40. it's the crime of the age.
  41. And best part, we have no power,
  42. sitting here, hoping for the best
  43. with cheap cable TV and a small, faulty shower.
  44. We don't get a say in how our country is run,
  45. only whites get a vote,
  46. and I'm telling you, that aint fun,
  47. the whole hate for us justifies us to carry a gun.
  48. But don't let the officer see it, oh no,
  49. he'll leave you with a broken nose, some fractured ribs, and it will show.
  50. Yet we just gotta sit and see it happen,
  51. like the world is a freak show
  52. and blacks are the main attraction.
  53. And thus, my friends, it's time to take action
  54. because we deserve more than a slum,
  55. with every other race living a luxury life
  56. fucking a good wife;
  57. and we're in oppression, labelled violent and dumb.
  58.
  59. Because this world is fucked now,
  60. racial hate around every corner,
  61. it is torture.
  62. Some of us will say it will go away,
  63. but that will never ever be true, it's here to stay.
  64. The black community is seen as some sort of animals
  65. but despite your rumors, at the end of the day
  66. we all share this Earth, we're all damn smart mammals.
  67. Skin colour don't mean a thing,
  68. and if the whole world had that view
  69. then this wouldn't be something I need to sing.
  70.
  71. We need a life of freedom,
  72. not a one where a rebellion needs leading.
  73. My pride and joy is my four six,
  74. amongst other issues, which I'm not needing,
  75. like half my family locked up and the rest are dead
  76. but onlookers don't care, to them,
  77. problems in life are for the foolish, they're rare,
  78. but I tell you, that assumption isn't fair
  79. my glock isn't for murder, it's because of the police scare.
  80. You judgmental pricks should come see the scene,
  81. afterwards, you would forever remember where you been.
  82. See the death, drugs, and struggles to make a living,
  83. then instead of scoffing at us, maybe spare some green, start giving
  84. shove your false thoughts
  85. about us being barbaric
  86. up your pretentious, rich boy ass
  87. because here in the hood, our stories are classic
  88. our lives worth more than any house you can buy.
  89. So until you take notice of us, accept our identities
  90. I'll not sit back and let it go with a simple sigh,
  91. here's why,
  92.
  93. Because this world is fucked now,
  94. racial hate around every corner,
  95. it is torture.
  96. Some of us will say it will go away,
  97. but that will never ever be true, it's here to stay.
  98. The black community is seen as some sort of animals
  99. but despite your rumors, at the end of the day
  100. we all share this Earth, we're all damn smart mammals.
  101. Skin colour don't mean a thing,
  102. and if the whole world had that view
  103. then this wouldn't be something I need to sing.
  104.
  105. I was just thinking,
  106. that you should all know
  107. that where we live has a much better history than
  108. "some storage room for cheap hoes"
  109. your ignorance is incredible, and boy, it shows.
  110. Peace.
