Lyrical Analysis of...
REASONS
- Since that young age, I guess I've come a long way/
- use to walk in different shoes but now I tie my own lace/
- they called me rebellious brat cause I did things my way/
- brought trouble along with its best friend called pain/
- never saw life as blue skies and sunny/
- I only noticed danger, blackouts, plus my pockets were full of lint,
- no money/
- always looked out for my mumsy, dad, big brother too cause they all
- mean something/
- to be honest, they're like my only guidance/
- the only solutions to helping me survive cause/
- I guess I'm a bit of a screw up/
- never use to focus at the desk, only thought about what would happen if
- my songs blew up/
- shoot up, as if my wish came true/
- so far my wish is just never leaving the booth/
- the one at home, been doing this music 'ting on my own/
- when I spit those last lyrics, make sure it'll be engraved onto stone/
- 'Cause I remember the day when me and tears first met/
- then came pain, suddenly we were all best friends/
- though I don't know when I'll ever see them again/
- cause music pushed both away while singing "you and them is an end"
- and "you have me as a reason, original M U S I C, I'm staying by your side
- because I see, I see you with your family, and stepping on stage with the
- M I C and me"/
- Money is always on my mind yet I've been told time and time, that it's evil/
- but evil has got me confused cause with people, friends, the way that ship
- ends at the tip of the iceberg making you see death/
- you don't get it do you? Well I didn't at first, until these days turned to
- months and got ten times worse/
- so then I took it, took a beat and wrote a verse about every tear drop that
- was hidden in this world/
- in a lost little girl, everybody sees her as a weird stranger/
- while everybody had friends over to watch the power rangers/
- I was sitting floor watching MTV base, glasses on my face at the age of
- four/
- but I wanted more, I wanted something to say, I wanted people to see the
- real Taytay/
- the Gemstone TGH/
- I wanted to spread my wings and finally fly away/
- 'Cause I remember the day when me and tears first met/
- then came pain, suddenly we were all best friends/
- though I don't know when I'll ever see them again/
- cause music pushed both away while singing "you and them is an end"
- and "you have me as a reason, original M U S I C, I'm staying by your side
- because I see, I see you with your family, and stepping on stage with the
- M I C and me"/
- Even though I'm all on my own/
- I still pray for those that's had hearts turned into stone/
- I pray for those that don't even have a little home/
- I pray for those that have cancer and weak bones/
- cause I know how hard it is, struggling everyday, facing drama with that
- smile covering the pain/
- but I'm still grateful waking up another day, alive, even if it rains/
- I take those raindrops as blessings and angels saying it'll be okay/
- I listen to my mum and the wisdom she has to say/
- I listen to my dad as he guides me to this day/
- I listen to my big brother, one of my role models who works hard and
- steps away from trouble/
- so many puddles I had to dodge, cause I've dreamed of this and wanted it
- so so much/
- it's been difficult facing people telling me that I should quit/
- but rapping is my one and only chance I can never miss, yeah/
