Lyrical Analysis of...
Fake Friends
- ive been learning everyday,
- and i hope you can say the same,
- ive been trapped inside a cage,
- but this cage is called my brain
- ive been trying to escape,
- but please let me explain,
- i want to entertain and obtain the fame and riches,
- but that life isnt the same is it?
- its different,
- if you mumble your considered gifted,
- and if you have the talent, well they dont really listen
- to be specific, im tired of playing the victim
- so dont mistake them fake friends for ya homies
- they only come around when they need you not when you lonley
- im glad i changed, new name, forget about the old me
- ive changed, actually a new person,
- im still fred west, but now im the best version,
- and i know im not the greatest i know that it takes time,
- best believe i got the patience whenever i write lines,
- these people saying they hate this, well okay fine
- i dont care what they say becasue its all in theyre minds,
- but when friends go behind and say i stole rhymes
- thats when i learned and finally realized that,
- these people were never actually there, they told me these things
- to think they actually cared,
- they said "your so good fred, rapping is so rare"
- when they used to be the kid that laughed pointed and stared
- well now i know the difference, life is never fair,
- these enemys acting like friends to me trying to share.
