Lyrical Analysis of...
Syllable Count: Take 1
- Look at each line individually. Read it out load and feel how it sounds as well as hear.. If it sounds off in any form then it needs to be reworked to be appropriate to grammar. Slang dont count.. You have a strong mind and you know how to use it so dont waste what you have done by not making what you create as clear and potent as you can morph it. My works need come editing but for the most part they are clear and precise with the language used allowing me to deliver a tight verse for a battle off the top smoothly and fast.. When its posted it may have the odd spelling mistake but typing at 100 words a minute then you miss a letter now and then and dont know it because the letter you missed still makes a word.. Spelling is not important in the creative stage but is in the final stage as well as clarity in grammar.. Look at each line and see how ones can be better spoken to not only be clearer but more meaning full at the same time...
- You do a good job on the syllable count for the line in whole and you need to remember there are 3 seperate counts you need to monoter here they are:
- 1. The count of the line in whole, don't trust the auto counter and do your own I have found it wrong on several occasions... Make sure they are as close as possible.
- 2. The words from rhyme to rhyme, Not count the rhyme, is its an internal external then you count one to the next then one to the next keeping all 4 as close as possible..
- 3. Rhymes: The rhyme count is one of the more important ones to always try and be as close as you can be with it.. the lines and internal lines may vary slightly but the main rhymes should be paired together... there is also the sounds of the rhymes themselves. You can be off slightly in them but only with the consonants and not the vowel sounds as they are generally the more potent parts of rhymes... though the aggressive K sounds are dominant at times as well..
- When writing, Creative Writing especially, you always want to speak clearly. By doing so you will be able to tighten your lines by learning to say something in 5 words you normally say in ten. There are over 1 million words in the English language as of 2014 and only 160K are widely used and known leaving billions of combinations left to be had... and you are good with words. By taking what you say in 10 and doing it in 5 you are now able to add a second punch, point, or rhyme you didnt have room for before. Clarity is key in any writing though their are allowances in the English language to manipulate it. you can bend the words so it still say's what it is but sounds and rhymes with a new pattern of words it wouldn't normally. how a word is said is how it rhymes and they can be twisted bent and broken as long as the meaning stays true even if it is in a double talk.
- ATTENTION: When rewriting anything you always work from a copy and never the original. You will keep everything safe encase you muck a line and cant remember how the original goes...
