Lost but not forgotten

Flat line in my mind. Writing rhymes the only way to hold my emotions in.
People around me committing sin after sin. Every night prayin' that if I die tonight
god would let me in. writing these lines eases my mind. Helps me to stop the crying and stand up
like the soldier I was raised to be. Mama was sixteen when she had me.
And dad,well it seems he forgot about me. By age 6 I knew my dad was a bum.
I knew my dad was scum. If he was to even try to reach out to me today I'd spit on his face.
And walk away. I had enough people who helped raise me on the daily that I didn't need him anyway.
He could have chose to stay but he walked away anyway.
I had a mom who loved me no matter what. I was raised to be tough and if I fell I was supposed to
pick myself up and dust shoulders off. Taught to never be soft. And if you wanted to cry never
show it.
