Lyrical Analysis of...
" Equality " by K!NG K!EM
- V//
- The keys I hit always play another note, and every time I start
- to breath something's laying on my throat, the layers on my coat been
- holding me down into snow... and its cold, I'll freeze to death then
- send prayers through then smoke. If there's hope, then I will chase
- it till there nowhere to go, then I'm stuck, whit no support and no other
- way to grow, best of luck to all you niggas who are stuck by the nose,
- you've been struck by all the bullshit that the world has to throw. Never
- trust... The system because its broken, favors the rich, black people are
- always struggling, whiteys don't give a shit, most of us are in the hood, gang
- banging is how we live, black people ain't finding jobs, they struggling to pay rent,
- we protesting black lives matter, we all trying to repent for something we didn't
- do, our skin color is our sin. They do not see us as equals, they do not see us as
- friends, they see us all as some animals stuck in the lions den.

- We could all be equal...
- We could all be equal...
- Stand up for our people...

- All these white people are depraving me, of an escape
- out of the slavery, my people are oppressed? More like
- they're made to be, and freedom is started to look so
- make believe, they're blinding us with commercials like
- Maybelline, we only see the things that we are made to see,
- in school they don't teach us about the major things, but now
- I know the truth, you will never make a slave of me. We're blinded,
- always losing focus. We take our brothers ashes, let them float out in the ocean
- our cultures and our rituals are all completely stolen, rewritten for the whites
- just to leave our people choking. With Jesus as my witness, I will say that i was
- chosen to relay all of these messages to children young and old and middle
- aged, we're being told that we can not live in a different way, simply for the fact
- that we were born a different race.

- We could all be equal...
- We could all be equal...
- Stand up for our people...
- We could all be equal... (4x)
