Lyrical Analysis of...
You Heard What (poem)
- and i heard em say
- nothings ever promised tomorrow today
- people say don't look at the past, but remembering at last
- people do the same thing over and over wanting exposure
- like a soldier we gotta keep composure
- cuz i heard em say nothings ever promised tomorrow today
- we are all in a hole, and we need a whole lot
- me i'm fall in like everyday every way all i got
- these things around me need to stop
- pleas, brings sound like guns that pop
- that's the only thing i apprehend
- but all of the hood always dies in the end
- so weakened but we can not send
- that's the trend that they lend giving no friend
- or a person to help
- i feel people always wanna hit under the belt
- they never knew how we felt
- and the haters are motivation
- need to stop the discrimination
- see me i wanna thrive but still wanna be alive
- they kill so many that have raised
- killing us and leaving us paralyzed
- not my fault for striving its key to surviving
- see im up hear and im live
- i wanna see my baby girl at least turn five
- so i guess i've play it safe, automatic drive
- cuz i heard em say nothings ever promised tomorrow today
- so today don't stand away but in the way or face
- of something that could possibly save a whole race
