Lyrical Analysis of...
Take A Trip
- (Intro ):
- yo, i wish there was a time machine,
- to review the past moments, and everything we remember and seen
- at least, i recall them in my visions, flashbacks, and dreams
- ay, i know how can see, let's take a trip down memory lane
- (Verse 1 ):
- yo, let's take a trip down memory lane, by following my flow
- that takes you to the home, location which is in the song, call it the flowzone
- so, if you analyze, see witcha realize, as you visualize, the imagery
- in these rhymes, between the lines, you'll recognize, see vividly
- the pictures i painted the same way i see, it like virtual reality
- like you were there with me, follow my league, to actual actuality
- as a 2000s baby, little vision but 20/20 memory, life was crazy
- my brothers bossed me and shit, a bossy big sis, and lil sis was a snitch
- tough love from the realest parents who loves me, wished them hate when i got my ass whipped
- pooty tang like disciplined momma, with the belt my father hit harder
- the hardest from my grandma, wouldn't let it slide with my step grandpa
- bratty sisters got timeouts, not touched, we boys always got belt fucked
- male role models like my uncles, and dad, who i wanted to be like so bad
- brought home F's and that was my ass, i use to finess em for the racks and rolls of cash
- they had, they flexed and bragged, drank beer and hustled, and they were too cool
- an me in Elementary school, i acted a class clown and fool
- everyone including the teachers thought i was a badass, tho i was, still an average
- student who was literally a smartass, or should i say savage
- with girls it was a game of cat &mouse, freetime with my classmates we played family or house
- i was a flirt, think'n my Elementary School sweat heart would be my spouse
- wasn't raised to be, a bitch, punk, or pussy, didn't take nothing from the rock,
- hard act'n niggas, between lunch arrive in the locker rooms to chest lock
- looked up at the clock, for the final bell after school, as we flash mobbed our way to the spot
- we're we squared up and fought, W or L, niggas still got they lights knocked
- (Chorus/Hook ):
- "yo, i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming from Oklahoma "
- "now i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming outta Oklahoma "
- yo, i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming straight from Oklahoma "
- "now i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming straight outta Oklahoma "
- (Verse 2 ):
- miss the 2000s style, haircuts with designs before tapers that was nappy
- i was classy or should i say swaggy, wore name brand clothes that was big and baggy
- wasn´t dressed faggotly, not bummy, ghetto or tacky, and not raggedy
- born in Oklahoma, home of the tornado alley
- i personally, witnessed destruction, livin in the tornado valley
- homes it abandoned, for me was a devastating tragedy
- turned the city´s to a wasteland, afterwards it was all polluted and nasty
- so i moved out the hood, hood, that was up to no good
- to a neighborhood, in OKC, called liar wood
- still full of ba ba kids who finessed ya mail and mailbox, running and hiding from cops
- on our neighbors rooftops, shootouts with bb guns designed like machine guns, shotties, and glocks
- livin ghettoś throwing rocks, in the windows of the house of an elderly snitch
- made club houses in they trees and hideouts, at night we do ding dong ditch
- hoped fences, played street b ball and football, we all had bullies and pits
- we was still an issue, we had other ways to get you, cover ya house up with eggs and tissue
- roamed apartment complexes and advertised false fundraisers for the money
- we jacked up and robbed other kids on the block for ya fundraiser money
- then we, split up evenly, not for fun ,yo that shit wasn´t funny
- around that time in the past, i was salty and sad, when i found out my dad had passed
- besides, having watery eyes,i never cried, like weeping and i´ll explain why
- cause i thought for males ,it was was an embarrassment and shame
- doesn necessarily mean i didn´t feel the stress and pain
- multiple weeks after, i felt flies in my stomach and nausea
- and with my father, gone my life will never be the same
- 6 years later, so much has changed, this was only a decade,
- and a half of personal bio, with more to come as i age
- now i´ma foreshadow back to the future, o.k.
- as i exit off right here, on memory lane
- (Chorus/Hook ):
- "yo i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming from Oklahoma City "
- "now let me take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming outta Oklahoma City
- "yo i wanna take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming straight from oklahoma City "
- "now let me take a trip, down memory lane "
- "coming straight outta Oklahoma City "
- coming from RapPad's most wanted, number one, you know where i come from
