Lyrical Analysis of...
Past is like a tattoo
- [VERSE 1]
- Wires flung past skin since being a youth
- whoever gives a damn won't sing out the truth
- the heart that you look up to always drinking
- brain invaded by chemicals from drinks, bad thinking
- bruises and scars stuck to the flesh by someone you love
- just was a newborn, wrapped in fabric, white like a dove
- the calendar flips pages, feeling less souls loving me
- the fire sparking hell, evil that humans can see
- never seen important when eyes spill tears
- wanting to depart these hidden fears
- voices hitting my ears, wanting to be in my body
- not seeing my darkness, sharing past with nobody
- my blood still flowing for no reason
- no help given, earth forever a cold season
- family resting six feet under dirt, witnessed one by one
- grim reaper smiling once his job is done
- a gang killing someone close for fun
- forever nailed in my mind, never forgotten
- until my corpse rests and gets rotten
- every night, mother is crying
- father being a dick, and she's trying
- my mother being the best person, never lying.
- [HOOK]
- Past is a tattoo, difficult to get rid of. (3x)
- [VERSE 2]
- Forced to sell illegals, ice and snow
- gang only gave me one choice, or a gun will blow
- my blood would be spilled on the street
- later the dead me thrown under six feet
- every morning heading to my high school
- law enforcement treating my race like a fool
- Hispanics discriminated, being all called a Pablo
- cuffs trapping my arms, slammed down to the patio
- feeling like starting some of this heavy bloodletting
- throughout my life, thinking a soon death I'll be getting
- never cared for, ex's never went for personality
- only for advantages, some inhumane insanity
- brother, sister, father treating me like a unwanted guest
- willing to spill blood for family, still not seen as trying my best
- alcohol easily destroying a family, half of them dying from it
- no tears poured out for my sake, not even a bit
- forever desiring to fall in love, wanting a family
- no one giving a damn, my mind is too silly
- once having someone I loved, later stolen from my heart
- started off as a friend, but he ripped me from her apart
- still pouring love, wanting to be with her
- but I'll be left and seen as a lonely sir.
- [HOOK]
- Past is like a tattoo, difficult to get rid of. (3x)
- [VERSE 3]
- Depression being my biggest opponent
- never will evade, only when my life is turned
- living with hands forced to do, the opposition of my will
- anxiety forever trapped in my soul, something I want to kill
- since a kid, seeing blades going through others
- done by lunatics all hiding faces under covers
- pair of shoes thrown up on my road's cable lines
- trying to survive hell on Earth, whatever it defines
- having more friends than fingers at the end of my limbs
- not knowing which one is true, talking of important things
- dying of old age I accept, but not wanting to die alone
- always wanted to have a ring on my finger's bone
- everyday, pointing the chamber to my head
- wondering who'd care if I would be found dead
- most mouths lying about what they said
- failing to know what life my soul lead.
- [HOOK]
- Past is like a tattoo, difficult to get rid of. (3x)
