  5. But that's lives man, that ain't right,

  9. But 3000 lives, wasted,
  10. Again and again, copied and pasted,
  11. It's a vicious cycle, on a endless repeat,
  12. The minority always facing, a endless defeat,
  13. No matter how close, they get to victory,
  14. All the lives lost, gone down in history,
  15. They're existence gone, only remembered in your memory,
  16. So many deaths, both young and elderly,
  17. This dark month, now known as Black July,
  18. But we will never give up, we will always try.

  21. And you know Christmas is in December,

  26. To 1956, the passing of the Sinhala Only Act,
  27. It made a massive impact,
  28. On the relations between our two ethnic groups,
  29. This created a social divide,
  30. Many Tamils lost their job, beside,
  31. You hurt our pride,
  32. Language and cultural discrimination,
  33. A process of elimination,
  34. Of the Tamil culture, a civilization,
  35. Big mistake, you increased our determination,
  36. To ask for a separate country,
  37. In the name of 'Tamil Eelam'

  45. This event and what would follow,
  46. The hollow cries for help,
  47. And the sorrow of families and the emotions they felt,
  48. But this is the cards that life has dealt,
  49. So we have to stand up and fight,
  50. And that's what we did, beginning in nineteen seventy two,
  51. The Tamil's revenge was finally due,
  52. This is the Sinhalese point of view,
  53. We came here first, this island is ours,
  54. But we existed together for many centuries,
  55. We are also the countries founders,
  56. Kingdom of Kandy and the Jaffna Kingdom,
  57. Our alliance so fearsome,
  58. It held back the Portuguese in 1560,
  59. I hope I shared with you some wisdom,
  60. The real cause, of the Civil War,
  61. And the Tamil people, we swore,
  62. To avenge our people's lives, no more,
  63. 25 years, of so many blood and gore,
  64. Because many just say the Tigers used terrorism,
  65. And that may be true, but this is the truth,
  66. Research on it, find the proof,
  67. One Love, One Nation.
