Lyrical Analysis of...
What Is Freedom?
- VERSE 1:
- Being white, it's shameful, it's like everything I say's attached,
- those histories of misery, I can't try and erase the past,
- plus everyone around me is a motherfuckin' lazy ass,
- whose primary concern is just to hustle and to blaze the grass,
- everything my people did, I wish that I could take it back,
- and rise up and rebel against these forces like slave attacks,
- or maybe I'll just watch us distribute drugs and lace the crack,
- face the facts, 'cuz honesty is somethin' that our nation lacks,
- and every time I save a track and make 'em mad, faze 'em bad,
- I think about effects of human nature and its flaming wrath,
- I likely will be chased through hell with missiles raining ash,
- and probably I'll resort to doin' shit for cash like Breaking Bad,
- let's get it on like Desert Storm, the Pentagon for steppin' on,
- our rights, fight 'em back, the white and black with weapons drawn,
- testing bombs on Lebanon, I'm guessing wrong, the Echelon,
- that flooded streets with crack is comin 'back, it was never gone,
- we'll sever arms, they'll transform this nation like Decepticons,
- we'll rest 'till dawn, words are weapons, Megatron's weapon arm,
- listen to the lyrics that are written when my pencil's drawn,
- then we'll rise and fight like warriors 'till sunset like Elton John,
- that's the masterplan, to brainwash at least half the land,
- with rappers, crack and gats in hand, send drones to Pakistan,
- apparently we're sharing this generic plot of blessed land,
- soon the government will have programs for genetic strands,
- that's why I truly mean it when we I say words are weapons,
- it's absurd they're testing, "freedom"? Is it a curse or blessing?
- that's why I'm tearing 'em, and carrying the message of truth,
- mixed with pain, anger, and hateful rage, the essence of youth,
- that's why I talk of civil rights, our freedom, and rebellion,
- I've been to hell and back to hell then back to the hell again,
- with our backs against the wall, we're stacked up 'till we fall,
- just know that we will fight for rights when battling them all
