Lyrical Analysis of...
Drinking Alone
- Drinking Alone (Freeverse)
- Tonight I'm drinking to forget what happened today;
- Six Guinness and a fifth of shine still won't send it away.
- I am deep rooted to the drink, what can I say?
- It helped to get me through my darkest day.
- An old friend hit me today;
- Said, "Steve I saw you on World Star."
- We got to chatting and I asked for a simple phone call.
- I guess that was too much to ask, he blew me off;
- So, I sip on the bottle to send that shit off.
- Said he's been drinking too;
- Never was into that in school;
- But I guess now the stress;
- Eats at me and you.
- I just wish we could've seen it through;
- Had a chat for a minute or two;
- But now I'm going through it;
- Hit the drink, don't know what to do.
- Turn on the TV and watch the news;
- Seeing what the Congress do;
- But it seems there's nothing new;
- Nothing gets done, telling you.
- This country has become a joke.
- Pandemics make the people woke.
- We all know that we're blowing smoke.
- Paranoid of getting colds. (I know)
- I feel like there's nowhere to go;
- Trapped inside, I drink alone.
- Within this skull I'm always froze;
- I wish I knew what they said they don't.
- Stuck in myself, just blowing smoke;
- Venting on this track I wrote.
- Talking to the people won't;
- Fix myself. I need to go.
