Down the Road
• Written by Erudite
The night air clear and crisp night lights shine like wisps
Silhouettes played on my finger tips and my windows lit
Rolling down the road or more so the story goes, in my school clothes
The Toyota light aglow though in the dirt roads exposed
Music melodies in my head composed drifting thoughts in notes
and lyrical symphonies wrote in my mind as we float
across the dirt as if clouds in the night shroud
it allowed the hurt not to be heard aloud
In my own zone, on my way home, cars lights shone like a cone
Shiver to my bones, my dome, as my senses hone
This car wasn't moving the road blocked no exit
The crevice in my mind said it's time, I couldn't read the sign like I was dyslexic
The window split asking if he ok, his hand slip to his lap reflecting light rays
Of chrome lays, shimmering metal, click settled in my mind to replay
the music trembled as if to symbol the silence, I closed my eyelids
Imagined violet rays I broke the silence to say dad move away
But no violence erupted the highlights of metals raised
As I gazed through the night haze and dad press on the metal plate
Almost safe to state as object appeared out the window, but couldn't zero
We to far gone just a mere glow
Me and death exchanged glances a mere passing by
I held my breath chanced the chance I would appear a passerby
