Young eager minds, open up your ears please

Come a little closer so that everyone can hear me

There will be no candy; no skits, no play

Instead I've come to speak on life and reality

The best ways to live with an increased salary

Happiness, joy, the things that you wanna be

Lifetime rewards that you think you are gonna see

A hot wife who talks like you're the only thought, right?

Not quite...don't expect a spotlight.

Instead of being given, everything is taken

Anyways, yeah, you own no possessions

You only get to lease them, that's no question.

High speed Internet, cable from a wire

Not so fast when you put them to the fire.

 

There are many things that I won't say or mention.

I won't speak twice, so please pay attention.

Life is a gold mine, crazy thing, kids:

It's only shiny rocks if you're too lazy to dig.

 

I have a lot of points but if one thing is learned

it's that nothing gains value because everything burns.

"But that's other people, for me, it's unlikely."

All that I'm saying is that life plays no favorites.

Innocence is short, so appreciate and savor it.

One day you'll grow into a dark, sad face and

you'll wish you had sent in some college applications.

Watching friends graduate brings a quick flash of hate.

Every day you wonder how you could have fallen last in place.

If only you had done this, if only you had done that.

Now you're sittin' on the couch, writin' down dumb raps.

Life is like Life and you only ever spin a one

Working 'til you die and you're only makin' minimum.

Your brain feels dark and you think that it's depression.

Your counselor is clueless and you start to think he's guessin'.

No one understands you, no one has a damn clue.

Plan 1 bombed and you didn't have a Plan 2.

It's kind of hard to live when you're living in your bed.

Goals are only wishes when they're sitting in your head.

 

Maybe is a word and it's also a state of mind.

Maybe is a life where you only stay within the lines.

Maybe is a cancer for all the things that you're good at.

The only thing worse than a maybe is a should have.

 

Life is a mountain, satisfaction tops it.

The climb is the journey and the only thing that stops it.

You can be barefoot, hungry and tired.

But if you have a passion then your burden is lighter.

I've seen skyscrapers brought to the rocky beds.

Huts in the desert with satisfied occupants.

Do or do not, it doesn't make a difference.

Sometimes people are just born gifted.

It doesn't matter now, but as you start to get old

You'll wish you had tried when you're dying and regretful.

So take my advice, fight for your life.

'Cuz death is a thief committing heists in the night.

Even if you're talented, how long will that last you?

People working harder are about to surpass you.

I hope that I spoke to you, but if I frightened

then take my advice from the pit that I'm in.
