Blue Sky

I been starin' at the blue skies on these blue nights

When sometimes thoughts just seem to fly on by

Hopes are new and bright

But I don't know what to do to impress this world

As the blue sky's fallin', as the blue sky's fallin' down

 

I been in my room, tryna grind up on my own

Tired of waiting for society to crown me a throne

I make so much progress and then decide to open my phone

And look at harmful comments that whip me up a mental cyclone

I don't know how you ride like this, how you survive like this

And why you never, ever let me be

Pressure tightens, now it feels like I'm walkin' thin rope

No snipers in sight but yet I'm dead centered up in their scopes

 

Why y'all standin' by copyin' my moves?

If I'm really not that important then leave me be

All your tormenting runs torrents in my mind dry

That's why I sit under these blue skies, cause they're my safety

I believe, I've got time to grow

Who I'm trying to be is someone I'll never disown

Cause I gotta stay true and keep the will to survive

In this dog-eat-dog world where only the fierce can dine

 

It's definitely not easy

The way I cope with it all

This pressure's got my hands feelin' a little greasy

It's like tryna bat on a fly ball

But I can't just go A.W.O.L.

I've got to keep on breathing

So when they spit words at me like aerosol

Just know I'm staying close to what I believe in

They're luring me to verges of hopelessness and obscurity

When I try to express myself to others more openly

I wonder to myself will they understand or just laugh at me

What matters out of everything I'm seeing tonight is that I'm seeing starlight

It's aura shields me from the world's debris

1 in a mil, this life I live is a sacred gemstone

As long as I got my visions I know I'm never alone
