One Way
• Written by LAzY
Verse 1:
Crawling out that tunnel emerging in the jungle
Got a black uncle families merging we can't crumble
As people we have a thing for putting each other down
Crushing dreams riots all over small towns
We can't stand together division is universal
Maybe If Martin wasn't on that stretcher shit would be more peaceful
Maybe if Trayvon didn't feel the pressure we all wouldn't feel so fearful
Together we got to stand up as people
Build our way up and realize were all equal
To be truthful for my culture i'm truly grateful
Mixed breed my structure is blissful
If I could choose a color of my skin, i'd choose grey
If my cousins grandad wasn't lynched it would be a different day
Yet we are still unconvinced that's why we don't pray
Walls break like Berlin hearts strum like Violin's
All I see is your personality with no loose ends
Maybe that's why I keep a circle of a few close friends
Verse 2:
When it comes to racism I don't know where to begin
We all play the victim based off the color of our skin
When we could just shake hands until the hate dies
Or would it be a mistake? Start another crusade?
Another man's culture we try not to invade
Man rather than call a white man white
Call him by his people
Rather than call a black man black
Realize were all equal
With my words I try to persuade, this nation of millions
Not dissing the foundation just talking to the children
Whether your brazilian or italian
Take a minute to realize were all brilliant
Look at MLK, same with Nelson
Loosen the tension just feel the true connection
Were all one in god's world
So don't be afraid to get with a different girl
This separation is absurd all started by one word
R A C E the labels undeserved
yea ya heard?
