Teachings of a Dove

There's blue skies above me and brick roofs below me.
The breeze is pushin wind through my hair.
Floatin mid-air without a care.
I let the struggles of the world come up and hug me
'Cause I know the love that I show will shield me.
From the pain, hate, and misogyny.
Where's the reciprocity of the peace and love we used to show?
It's over there, behind our fears.
I'm here, ready to calm your fears. So stop your tears.
But, just one thing: stop and think.
All the shufflin' feet you pass upon the street.
Are people full of problems. That, we have in common.
So the next time you see someone sad man,
Go up and ask them why and, I think you'll find that.
Your presence will soon cease their sadness and you'll see
That there's peace, knowing that each and every day
You can make this world an even better place.

I was told, by a dove
That the trick to livin' life is spreadin' love.
So go out, maybe try it.
Give your mother or your lover a big kiss.
Then tell them. No, really tell them.
From the depths of your bein' that you love 'em.
You'll see, it can't be taught.
You'll know it when you see it, just believe.
Take a deep breath, from your chest.
Feel the bass notes bumpin' in your soul.
It was a kiss, that was it.
Hear your heart as its singin' out with bliss.
Your mind, it goes clear.
Did you know this would rid yourself of fear?
You shed, just a tear.
'Cause you know the face of God is right here.
Nose to cheek, lip to lip.
Maybe love's the key to the world's bliss.
