Church

Verse 1:
I ain't been to church in a minute
Ain't seen the bishop been on my own planet
I can hear the faucet drip, onto the granite
We don't want to give him money but the church demands it
He pulls up in a BMW top all the way down
This pastor steals our food and runs our town
More like a slave master that's down for the count
We live for God not to have our lives stolen
You may think it's odd but he even has our wives stolen
He's a man, soft spoken, altar is golden
But when he has a chance he leaves our wallets broken
He wants to run of like Helen treats us like he's Stalin
I respect the church don't get me wrong
But to my research the pastor is pulling us along
I made this song to try and help you understand
So when he reaches out his hand we need to withstand come on

Verse 2:
My church makes me cry
When we confess our sins they lie
Say it's alright when it's the opposite in the sky
We try to be blessed but the pastor grins in peace we can't rest
I'm a guest in the house of the lord and it doesn't feel right
They say Jesus died by the sword yet we don't feel his presence in morgues
Pastor takes so much money he could be on forbes
This the life I can't afford if God was with us their would be no wars
They tell us lies you can't trust the statistics
I tell the truth through music, you have an opportunity so use it
Crooked police in the district keep my faith I just can't lose it
When the night is over all our kitties are boosted
My wish is for my music to be a classic
Have my stories and truths be told through the ages
Reach the youths through the tops of stages
Travel to other countries learn other languages
Become the worlds activist and be freely blasphemous
