I've had friends come and go some add their two pennies and think I'm their enemy

When really I'm just minding my own business I got nothing to discuss with you you ain't been in my shoes

I done got enough bruises from broken trusts be real with me I'll be real with you I got nothing else to lose

Them days are long gone I'm only drawn to the souls of honest people who choose a life of peace

True that those memories were golden but now I've woken up took my time to redevelop and only trust my gut

If you real and bring the truth to serve at the table I'll remain faithful to you and love those that are ungrateful

They may have stabbed my back sure it was whack the pain still remains but I grew wise to refuse causing more stains

I no longer try to explain my past I keep my mouth shut and let them do the talking smiling and nodding

Sitting back in my chair rocking don't stack more problems cause it'll only cause me to blossom
