Bonds
• Written by Once
Mum, why you gotta hurt me like this?
You're words cut deeper, than a knifes twist.
I try to understand, but I am drownin' in pain.
The bond we had, seemed to go down the drain.
I am tired of fightin', tired of cryin'.
Cant you see the tears that I am hidin'?
I just want peace between us both, but it feels like we are never risin' above.
Hate you Mum, for all those lies.
Hate you Mum, for all the cries.
But deep inside, there is a flicker of hope, that one day...we'll be able to cope.
You used to be my shelter from the storm, now it feels like I am walking alone.
The scars that have been left may never heal.
But I try and not let the bitterness steal.
Through all the pain, and heartache.
There is still a bond that wont break. I try to hold those memories so dear.
And pray for forgivness to finally draw near.
Hate you Mum, for all those lies and those cries deep into the night.
Maybe, oneday...we can stop this fight.
