Because they heard that I rap and got a new mixtape,

I spat my greatest verse but their straight faces stayed expressionless,

After I was done they said cool and that was it,

Man I can't forget that shit shot my confidence,

The opinions of my peers undermined my accomplishments,

And there I was standing in the bathroom,

Staring in the mirror contemplating quitting rap soon,

That crap's weak I done came to far,

They're not gonna take my only wish upon a star,

Upon acceptance to college I felt bitter,

I don't want to go to class I wanna be a rap spitter,

And I don't fit in anywhere I go,

I'm anti-social and my social circle gets smaller every year,

And on the days I feel terrible,

I escape through substance and solitude,

I'm probably close to you about to go super nova tho,

I try not to be noticeable,

I used to rock graphic tees and mismatched clothes,

Plus I always wear a smile gotta stay optimistic,

I know a few folks who aren't jolly on christmas,

Sometimes I just feel like a square that doesn't care,

Who seems to lack self-awareness despite my merits,

My marriage to music remains complicated,

Trying to push these songs out but i'm constipated,
