23 Ward Blues
• Written by kirtcathey
(E7) Down in Shibuya where the homeless lay in shrouds
(A7) Out the station exit, among the largest crowds
(E7 X 2) Waiting, smoking, talking without a care,
Enjoying the scent of blowing lady hair
(A7 X 2) Walking to the crossing among beautiful girls
Smiles, smirks, winks, and innocent frowns
(E7 X 2) Some with so much flare they look like clowns
Others so gorgeous in their fashion gowns
(B7) I've got the Shibuya blues,
(A7) Strolling through this ward,
(E7) Looking for all the clues,
(B7) That can be put down in song and chord
(E7) Down in Shinjuku where the party never ends
(A7) Out the station exit, among crazy trends
(E7 X 2) Walking, strutting, shuffling and bumping
Lookin' right and left in a town constantly jumping
(A7 X 2) Keeping my ground with a stroke of caution
Among the underworld sellin' their toxin
(E7 X 2) Stares, glares, and intimidating gawks
While walking among the mafioso hawks
(B7) I've got the Shinjuku blues,
(A7) Strolling through this ward,
(E7) In my hoochie coochie shoes,
(B7) Down in Shinjuku feeling deplored
(E7) Down in Roppongi where the bars don't close
(A7) Out the station exit, with a Japanese rose
(E7 X 2) Tripping, rambling, and strolling in a stuper
Drooling on club girls who walk like a trooper
(A7 X 2) So many street touts feels like Nigeria
Hard to tell the difference, they could be from Algeria
(E7 X 2) Country women flock to this town
Only to return without a gown
(B7) I've got the Roppongi blues,
(A7) Strolling through this ward,
(E7) Looking forward to a good snooze,
(B7) After all night trying to stay aboard
