Every other thing smothers me, gutting me from left to right

From the honey to money with nothing comforting left in sight

My placement's decaying, aching for ways to be fed tonight

My head has died requestin' light feelin' like I'm dead to rights

Reachin' for my collar, so anxious from this evil mess

Squeezin' a dollar from a dime when I haven't a single cent

Feelin' all but 'bout to falter, so lonesome my ego's bent

Screamin' out these hollers 'til I'm deaf from this lethal stress

So please submit a tip to tip the scales a bit in my favor

Neglectful dick to restless bills I'm feelin' taken with anger

Just a day to get a break, get out my face with the failures

That are hauntin' me always like it's the place, I'm the mayor

I'm so tired of trying to find a light inside my mind responding back

Cuz every time I try to smile I find it's just beyond my grasp

The captain of a sinking ship with only the alarms in tact

I'm spillin' millions of illnesses and I ain't no hypochondriac

It's just another day in the life of the author

A book for inspiration started sayin' "Why bother"

Scalded top to bottom, that's the latest life offer

Survivin' just to find there ain't no Welcome Back Kotter

Get busy livin' or dyin', the decision I'm tryin' to make

Resorted to the former, got clowned like a pie in the face

And ain't no rests from attemptin' unless I die in disgrace

Cuz there's no comin' back from the last, at least that's science's take

The wear and tear gets old I swear, aging faster than me

Watchin' cares flare up in the air like I asked 'em to leave

You can love your life but life won't love you back so passionately

Fractures from adamantium, that's all the passion you'll see

Thought I could have some time residin' but it's flyin' instead

Like a flick I'm sittin' in knowin' that I die at the end

I started with an armor that's aligned by a thread

Once it was cut been out of luck, I've had to fight to the death

And for what? All that I've made I watch it slippin' away

New predicaments trickle in with older wins eclipsed in the fade

Ever present dilemmas send the present into the drain
