Heart

I loved you for years with all of my heart,
That's why I'm surprised to find that in part,
All of my clothes are on top of my car,
You changed all of the locks to start,
All over again, with some other man,
While I'm sitting here bleeding out through my pen,
Only a stain on the ground that you walk,
All of my love that I gave was naught,
I'm surprised even though I know you sought,
Something that couldn't be bought, or given, or caught,
But I'm hit like a shot, a malevolent plot,
Even as you leave me dying to rot,
I know I never fit in your slot,
Of what you expected from me to spot,
