New Life

• Written by

I came from a big family, i was always begging for attention
But now all I try to do is to get rid of this glorified tension

I was lost in the darkness i couldn't find my way out
I knew i had hit a wall, i never had a damn doubt

I was the youngest, always getting my self in trouble
getting in fights before i could even grow a stubble
but the blessing was in the struggle, hope was emerging thru the rubble

But i picked up a basketball and began to dream
The hope i found when i played, it was my new theme
The game of basketball, she was my beloved queen
I had found my way back to the light/and i would stay clean

This ballgame saved me it was my well needed intervention
it helped alleviate my well documented tension
I began to see the future and i set up a pension

I began to see life in a new way, i learned to pray
I new i had to stay on this path i know i couldn't stray
left my issues in the past/ every day is a new day

I was blind and lost/ but being blind isn't a condition its just a decision
I decided to make success my mission, regardless of my condition
Now with my basketball in hand i can recognize my amazing vision
And now i begin my journey as i depart on my god given mission
