All born to please to your true-born king,
Drowin' out the screams as his new born sings
All born to please to your true-born king,
Drowin' out the screams as his new born sings
Aerys II was a fine prince.
He was thought to become a fine king, he had all the signs since.
But as time crept upon him, his mind begot madness,
As it grew untamed so did nails and his hair, he began to seek new heirs,
But his wives never seemed to bear, his sister's seemed to be bare
what was wrong with him? "is this what the new god's wrath is?"
And Aerys was scared. He never would be again, he sweared.
He must continue his family, the dragons were dead but their blood ran damn deep.
One night his enemies captured Your Grace,
he was chackled in chains and battered with rage
He scarcely seemed scathed,
until the days begun to number and his hope began to strain
and his mind began to change and he cried with rage for his chance at his revenge...
And soon granted was his wish and our king was at peace
but dead was the prince and born was a beast,
the dragon returned and it came here to feast, it brought fire to breathe
and soon all his foes were enflamed on their knees...
No enemy of Aery's was left unburned, quickly we learned.
And quickly he yearned for more urns of fire to wield at his desire, to burst
And the Mad King began his true reign, a new song soon sang
And so our king burned all in his way, for new reasons each day
Once because his seed refused to be laid, his wife burned at a stake
Truly he was brave. He never thought of his grave. Only his flames.
He stopped trying to behave as he did trying to bathe. Mad he truly became.
And though war was coming, he just watch his fires burn away
The dragons might be dead but the blood in his veins...
And when a new king took the throne, he did not bring our king to die
it was Aerys' knight, took his life, no accident.
with the same sword he vowed to protect it with, under their gods' light
Aerys thought he would be become a dragon, the fire ressurrecting him
But his loyal Knight slit his throat, just so the king couldn't get the best of him.
All born to please to your true-born king,
Drowin' out the screams as his new born sings
All born to please to your true-born king,
Drowin' out the screams as his new born sings
The Mad King was a fine prince.
He never took his wife to bed, not unless his flames loved someone dead.
And when he did, he left it red, and her screams were hard not to hear
Even the kingdoms started to fear, the people knew despite how it appeared,
that by blood-right a mad man sat The Iron Chair,
and that his mind-state was a trait his sons might also share
And indeed he had his heirs, but when he lost his life none of theirs were spared.
And King Robert sat the throne, and began reign that was flawed, but fair
But Men still remember the mad king like his flames are still there.
Good or bad, there have been many kings, many mad, but Aerys was the maddest of them all...
He lived to be a dragon and died laughing with the words: "Burn them...Burn them all..."
All born to please to your true-born king,
Drowin' out the screams as his new born sings
