Still in progress

Who's to say? If you wear my Jimmy shoes I choose today,
you wont become another Shabaz prodigy?
some say my attitude is like i don't give a damn,
but i cant keep rapping if y'all aint bump my jam.
transition from the old me to the new me,
Since nobody knew me, I'll tell yall bout my days before conviction,
before i was found guilty by voice recognition,
ill show you unique words with no repetition,
take a peek at my universe,
To see me first, you gotta book a seats to watch my life like a movie,
I keep moving, never stop for road blocks, no cops or groupies.
So I told mama i knew where i was headed,
She thinks i don't cause my hair is all dreaded, like a Rasta,
but i told her God came first and the money after,
even though i knew i was a lying bastard who doesn't know the father,
but i be praying, i swear i'm trying harder,
especially after i almost got wet by a chopper,
damn, it was a close shave at the barber's,
but every now and then i still buy crack at the corners,
and sit with kids that sat at the same corners,
i know mama warned me not to do that
but my conscience never told me to move back,
she said we had standards, I never could understand that,
where do you stand at if your standards aint where you stand at?
