Square One

I'm rolling through the city hearing all the voices in my mind

procuring all the vices that I need to feel fine

got the drive to go and drive, high off a fifth of early times,

Hit the hay, and early rise, then wonder when I'll fix my life,

 

I hear em every single night,

I'm always putting up a fight,

Afraid of my vision, sometimes I close my eyes,

& now I gotta find a way to like what's inside.

 

The day I could write I became alive.

super sayan, slaying time, I hate what's right,

i do what's wrong, I hit the bong, I find the sky,

I'm in my civic, on the five, I'm going north,

it's sonic town, the sea-hawk nest, swass city,

rock wit me, lose my self, i lose my breath,

then I dip, I had no friends, i lost my skill with the pen,

hit the dabs, and nearly drank my ass to death.

distressed, i need to reset, I'm back to square one,

the chief nearly forgot, that I'm only blood and flesh.

 

Now i'm rolling through the city, voices still they kick it with me.

Incredibly silly if you really think I'll go and ditch my dream.

I put him away, he's in the grave, now I occupy his brain,

 

i sing the same song every time,

something, something something, getting high,

take a hundred a shots and hope I die,

really i'm afraid to say goodbye,

 

I came back home, I wasn't happy,

too much dope and no more rapping,

spent my dough up on the sack, the wraps,

and snaggin whiskey, to get nasty,

Fact is now the chief is fiction, feeling like a fantasy,

now i need to find a way to fix my fallacies,

I'm in the O, I'm blazing trails,

smell the roses, feel the hail,

drinking coffee, travel the rail,

I'm back in PDX on the MAX,

making tracks, I'm back to square one,

need to find a blunt, a pen and pad, get mad, make my start.

 

So I'm in the home city, thinking destiny is ready,

gotta keep the ethic with essays that I message to my friends list,

if i gotta end it, gotta know I gave my all,

so i'm back in the first square, trying to conquer the board.
