Bygones
• Written by KingBZA
I'll let bygones be bygones
only if you by gone by the time you get this
cause reading these lines is only for the intelligent
who have the common senses of the common man
Not of the stuck up and bougie like the bourgeoisie
I see (I see)
The dreams of the promised land
waiting for the one and only promised man
Like the descendants of Abe was promised land
The Europeans promised the 40 and mule
But all they gave us was a whippin' and a bag of tools
Hoping we'd dig em like Dre dug Snoop
While they was snooping with our women
We was digging trenches like WW1
Even though it was no man's land
It was still promised
Like that promise ring you gave your girl
Even though you promised the other girl
You wonder how I know
While you was preserving a fantasy
I was observing reality
While you was wasting a way
I was trying to make a way
Trying to be the better man
In a world of better men
You was trying to be a pimp
in a world of Melvins and Simps
But that's ok I'm not getting deep into that
Cause talking about it is putting me six feet under
I'll just let bygones be bygones and gone on about my business
