Word of Mouse (Open Letter To Jo...

It was back in high school, when I heard your first single
Pump it up, nice beat, hook with a jingle
Gave you a chance, second album that I ever copped
June 10th, 2003 on the day it dropped
I was shocked, stunned and then floored
After every track I wanted to hear more
Depression gone now
Had me take that blade from my wrist when I heard your song come on sayin Calm Down
Then they said your album flopped, only went gold
How could this be with tracks that were so bold
Followed underground, radio didn't know nothin
Inspired me when I heard The Worst of Joe Budden
Could It Get Any Worse, yes it did
For Better or For worse, Mood Muzik ya dig
Nigga you saved my life, that's why I wrote this
Em pulled me from Rock Bottom, but you made me Focus
You taught me how to feel nigga
You taught me to always speak my mind cuz fake people hate real niggas
Plus I mastered all that syillable shit
But rather make the pen bleed to see the feeling you get
And if this letter doesn't get to you
I'll feel better knowing that I wrote a classic that would still be the shit to you
Fuck it, you helped me through my bad history
The best company when I flirt with miss misery
Or make it rain at the bar, drown in my sorrow
Don't really care, but If I Die Tommorrow
I know so many people will miss me
I'm cruisin in 5th Gear, but depression drive a six speed
Your help is inmeasurable
Helped me see me and who I claim to love really weren't Insperable
When I had No Idea, you said Sober Up
You got a Long Way to Go, nigga soldier up
And to Joe, one of the realest niggas in the booth
We're the same but we're not, share the same truths
We're two extremes at two extremes
Everybody think we crazy, look what I mean
You inspired me to achieve instead of hatin
So every track I breathe I say hello expectation
Use everything against me and some how still manage
To use all my imperfections to my advantage
