Boots to Polish
• Written by AboriginalClimate
I see you standing there with your frozen, vacant stare
A robot in the making, a consciousness never waking
And you're fine with that? In line to get fat;
Sorry if I'm not.
Actually, I'm done apologizing
Happily, I'm visualizing / a better right now
A header, low-brow
Indebted, I bow (to you)
My words are making strides, gently dissatisfied
Reaching all the way inside, longing to lessen pride
Praise humility
Display tranquility
Stand back and be amazed.
Learn, explore, invent, create
Yearn for more, upset the hate
Contemplate and concentrate; be here now to advocate / peace
Not war, at least; not more police
Maybe the world's masterpiece
Let's go faster East
Fire the pastor, priest
Are you content with where you're at?
Will you just let the bureaucrat / make money off your labor
It's funny, they're the slavers
And we're in slavery, mentally
I thought this unsavory penalty / had long been abolished
Yet I'm here with boots to polish, feeling smallish
But I'm not worried 'cause I know I'm just as big
As these wigs with their rigs
Only I won't need oil to do it
Because I need soil to do it / right
I need peace in order to fight
I'm here to nonviolently ignite
An intellectual revolution, the methodical dissolution
Of class lines and confines and deadlines and stop signs
[Let's make this all up ourselves, as we go]
We're moving on up and we're making conclusions
On out of this rut, amending confusions / and filling in the cracks
Because hostility lacks what sensibility attracts
That is to say, the facts
And the fact is that war has never given us more
Than creative ways to kill each other.
The firm middle ground here is creativity
We're an innovative people, full of possibility
Skill and prowess, will and success
The thrill of progress
Be chill, no pills, just say yes
To fun spontaneity you normally wouldn't
Get off of this deity, stop saying you shouldn't
Do new things you've never tried, never questioned
Are you in it for the ride? Maybe you'll be impressed when /
You end up loving it, you defend fan-clubbing it
You learn something new that becomes a part of you
Understand your sliver of the landscape
Reprimand your liver for it's bad shape
Be like, dude, I don't think we need to drink as much
Change the mood, this life necessitates a gentler touch /
And optimal nutrition, let's be done with competition
Love instead of ammunition, less-defining definition
Be done with pessimistic classifications, fatalistic devastations
Chase imaginations / down, in new directions we've found
Where happiness abounds
Never leave the playground
[Let's make this all up ourselves, our own way]
