Proved You Wrong

• Written by

I had hidden what I written
Cuz my vision wasn't yet in the system
Writing lyrics slammed the door locked it
Parents on the other side screaming you need to stop it
Stop doing what you love
Cuz you will never ever be good enough
You'll be working getting paid minimum wage
You'll never hold a mic never make it on a stage
You'll never be a big hip hop star
Never have thousands of fans scream who you are
Never have your face be on a magazine
I thought it was clear but you obviously can't see
I yelled mom my songs are different
They have a good meaning behind the lyrics
This isn't for the money its the decision
One second your rapping, next minute your living
You keep trying to stop me but you can't
You try and you try but I don't think you understand
I won't stop nah it's not in the plan
You'll see I'm right when I have hundreds of fans
But ma kept saying that I was wrong
And that I should just give up writing songs
Ma I have what it takes
And even if I don't life is full of mistakes
Refusing to back down she let it all out
If you keep rapping girl you'll never make your momma proud
So I started rapping behind your backs
I know your disappointed, I'm sorry mom and dad
You always said I wasn't good enough
But I refused to listen, I didn't give up
Yeah I know I really let you down
But my dream is more important now
Look where I'm at now, I'm on a stage
With thousands of fans screaming my name
If you look on a magazine you'll see my face
Want to come to a show? I'll give you the dates
Now your proud of me cuz of my fame
Because of your hate look what I became
If you listen to the radio you'll hear one of my songs
After all these years I finally proved you wrong
