Hymn For The Summer
• Written by TyKoonMusic
Poetry is my trade, words are my blade/
It's too late, it's time to eviscerate - Say hi to Moses up at that Golden Gate/
"Sigma, you bitch, it's time to concentrate./
It's about time you re-evaluate, you haven't made a rap in almost two years,
you think you're gonna start spewin' hate?/
It's too late, why don't you just keep sittin' alone and masturbate?"
Because it's about time I get even - and beat the odds.
Praying to Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite and all the Gods./
This is my Summer time hymn, a gospel required to be re-read./
Snatchin' up the Eucharist and beg the priest for a couple dollars, breakin' bread/
I'm not gettin paid, gettin' laid so to God I've prayed./
"Please oh please save me from this hell on earth./
I've hit rock bottom and I'm constantly questioning my self-worth./
Should I turn to liquor, drugs, the end of a gun?/
I can't keep letting this shit happen, they've won."/
But God answered, and he told me to bounce back./
Attack with the rhymes I know best and sharpen the skills I lack./
So this is not a summer time rhyme to tell you that the sun doesn't shine./
It's to tell you that the warmth is empowering and to never cross that forever line./
You can find that warm light, trust me, I'm a depressed mother fucker./
And This here is my hymn for the weekend, the week, and the rest of the summer./
