Rise

I come to you in fear of my own well being

I can't take anymore of the things I am seeing

My mental health just won't stop depleting

But I know my heart will keep on beating

It was never those who believed in me but I didn't want to trust

That I had the skills to risk it even if I bust

So this time I'm back and I do it 'cause I must

I'm not giving up for the ones that I have lost

 

You see, I'm on this journey to make it a living

Just so that this kid can go and really kill it

I never thought that I'd be living livid

But maybe there's a chance that I could go and do it

I could do it I could make it big

It's all me with no help and nothing basic

If I give up now the outcome'd be tragic

I know I'm not pathetic

I just don't know if I can get it

This is me forgiving all of the people I've rejected

This time there's no quitting

This time I'm still spitting

This time I've got the drive to really go all in

With an intricate sense of rhythm

I know that I can kill it

I know what I gotta do just so I can win it

I'm giving up on who I used to be

And saying hello to the new me

That's the life I really want to see

And that's the me that I really want to be

 

I'll never forget the day that my life went grey

It's not really anything I'm proud to say

But it was the day that I threw it all away

I hated the thought of losing you

And all my days became blue

It's so sad but still so true

I hated God for taking you

And that's the hell I put myself through

I'm not proud but I'm not ashamed either

Maybe it just helped me see clear

Maybe from music I just needed this breather

I don't do it for you, but I don't do it for me either

But that's not the message that I'm trying to send you after

I'm telling you that I can do it and you can't stop me

From becoming the man I'm trying to be

This is my journey and my story that I'm chasing

And this the direction that I'll be heading

 

Y'all can watch me rise or kick me to the curb

You can sit at home and break down the herb

While I'm on the rise, coming for the world
