When I Was Me
• Written by JayFlow
walkin up the vision, only to see doubt pile /
fear chased around the corner, he slipped in a small isle /
suck in the wall, as a small frail child /
at a early age, pain made the frame fragile /
the roots pull hurt from this dirt, the water pulls /
round and round, till a pool forms where he surfs /
brought up the product, but he rather play it to the birds /
certain that no person, would listen to his verse,
his words never heard /
as i pass the mirror, i look back at a figure /
and ask why life, is just one blast from a trigger /
in a lighter light, the lighters light a brighter flame, like a click clack /
then all black, don't ask why there's no up-lifter /
there's an inner winner, in all of us but all of us /
are losing our dinner, no appetite left is there /
and my breathe just got up, and left in thin air /
why does my mind wonder, if there anyone in there /
-looked down on the ground, what is it suppose to be
and you go, and you go, slippin on the gold at your feet
but we go and we fold up, like seats at the beach
wasn't always a frown, i use to smile when i was me-
cartoons are more cartoons, to get my mind off doom /
i could smell boozed, coated with perfume /
hurts to assume, but i knew, what you would do /
after all, you, weren't here, but i still would look for you /
in this train of thoughts, i trained my lost to be fine /
all aboard, as i bordered all in mind /
what i adored, was aborted with lies /
i feel like shit, short of like lord of the flies /
all the time, my hands were tied /
i would take in, or endure as i tried /
you were out,
i wasn't aloud to call, why? food was a big price /
but alcohol, you could afford, all the time /
mother mother, why you got my tears so wet with cries? /
smother smother, this young lover broken down a size /
lover lover, its like no other, when you lose your real form /
brother brother, wish you were still born, but you were a stillborn /
-looked down on the ground, what is it suppose to be
and you go, and you go, slippin on the gold at your feet
but we go and we fold up, like seats at the beach
wasn't always a frown, i use to smile when i was me-
look in my eyes, dry as a plum, night to a sun /
i'm a knight as a son, i fight as the time runs /
see what I've become, the drive is a drum /
they laugh at my raps, irony through a pun /
i admire none, my hype's drive gets higher, i won /
fire in my lungs, i get higher, as i light one /
then i look into another wonder, then become a lover /
look into the dispute, then with a fuse, i refuse this fluster /
the hurt is numb, as the nerves are stunned /
i wonder whether, clever is better than ever bein dumb /
cause with knowing, comes exposing cover ups,
my upper trust, hits like uppercuts /
thunder erupts, we lose who was,
then Zeus becomes the truth to us /
i'm commin up like she on top, and i'm bustin a nut /
tired like i'm done, what i love is no fun /
cause you got to love it so much, you almost hate it /
i'm almost famous, cold heart, make my soul so nameless /
so so dangerous, load no patience, in my clip is /
all my enemies name, they envy me in this game /
bullets wasted, metaphorically they hit the pavement /
all the sore in me, is pouring thee Jesse, that is the greatest /
all the haters start to hate, but its great, i go ape shit /
its epic to me, especially when they make them faces /
i had patience, that's why all my hits, are the latest /
aggression in my raps, and you can call that rapacious /
-looked down on the ground, what is it suppose to be
and you go, and you go, slippin on the gold at your feet
but we go and we fold up, like seats at the beach
wasn't always a frown, i use to smile when i was me-
