Nostalgic Soul
• Written by EmmaDre
I stopped listening to things you say,
and in my very straight utopia I'll forever lay.
Am not happy but God knows I that I wish I'd stay,
but its better and bearing the ache that I feel for you.
Now am single without a clue, was in too deep with you.
Am in a new phase, but verily your love I spew.
My intuition tells me to move, but am in love with you,
at worse my soul lost its hue, for you. But now it's
all just dark clouds more rain, my skies no longer blue
and its because of you.
the very air I breathe is you, and that's forever true.
I cant just find someone like you, and that just nothing new.
Even all the wars I win, its all for you.
I know you know that is true.
I was just jumping in love,
didn't pay attention to the pain and longing involved.
my mind's not strong enough,
and then I fell face flat, into the mischief of love.
my nostalgic soul.
See my heart was once window,
the only reason it opened was to let a little wind flow .
time wasted then you crept in, with your quiet tiptoe,
then your dimple, it was too late quickly I lost my focus.
like magic you did some hocus pocus
then I ate the lotus.
in time I was a fool like Otis.
love was like mindful potion.
causing damaging commotion.
then I spew the venom, soon I broke the totem.
but I was already a zombie walking, hardly talking .
so here's the lesson, my confession.
I hope in time you pay attention.
to watch out for voodoo hexing.
and don't fall prey to this spell that's casting.
I was just jumping in love,
didn't pay attention to the pain and longing involved.
my mind's not strong enough,
and then I fell face flat, into the mischief of love.
my nostalgic soul.
