If you had 
One plant
With it's reactants
Doing photosynthesis
Making glucose
Would you water it
Or just let it decompose 
Yo
Water, CO2, and the sun is needed
Reactants of photosynthesis 
The plant is seeded
Autotrophs make their own food
And the heterotrophs eat em
They make oxygen we really need em
Then there's light dependent and independent reactions
