I remember, the first day that I met you/
You introduced yourself and said nice to meet you/
I replied to her, saying my name was Jake/
You welcomed me in, you didn't even hesitate/
When I first met you, life was pretty rough/
Parents divorced and school was getting tough/
My faith was being diminished, every day/
Taking the wrong turns leading me astray/
But you were always there, lifting me up/
Things will get better keep your head up/
Then after a year, you really changed my life/
Led me to God, he helps any type/
After that we started becoming close/
Always having fun doing things the most/
Yeah I remember, the memories started growing/
Yeah life was good, I liked how things were going/
Then one day, some bad news that I heard/
This can't be real, my vision was getting blurred/
She's in the hospital, she got cancer/
I wanna help, please God, what is the answer/
Praying every day, but she keeps getting worse/
Life was getting good, this shit must be a curse/
I don't know what to do, I'm lost in my confusion/
She meant so much, this cant be the conclusion/
Always thought about her, she's always in my mind/
Without her around, its like I'm going blind/
Yeah I remember, one night was feeling sick/
Went to bed turned the lights of with a flick/
Woke up, checked my phone I got a text/
It was my sister, she's saying she's perplexed/
I said why, she said Pat died this morning/
I dropped my phone immediately started mourning/
I screamed why, why did this have to happen/
Yeah I was hurting, I felt like I was lacking/
I didn't believe it, nah this can't be real/
It's not the same, life was just not ideal/
The things I'd give, just to see her one more time/
Looking to the sky, just looking for a sign/
But I know she's always looking down from above/
Flying high in the sky just like a dove/
Hoping one day that I can see you again/
In a better place you don't have to feel no pain/
I miss you so much, I miss you every day/
But just know, I'ma follow in your ways/
