Sammy's Song
• Written by ZLA
Touchin' your heart through this photograph,
Swear these walls screamin' my name,
Swear every time that I'm seein' your face out of place in the streets -
It's a face full of pain,
Understand that I'm livin' my life through you,
Through us,
Buildin' lifetime trust out of dust,
I do adjust to the gust of wind that hinders him from walking thin lines,
I rhyme for this very reason,
He's in pain but no one believes him,
Leaves 'em kicked to the curb,
Flips the bird and deceives 'em,
He ain't blessed but he sneezin',
Cause it's a cold world,
10 month old girl left not breathin',
Mom left grievin',
Birthday present that you bought last weekend
Thrown in the trash -
4 pounds of hash,
Couple bottles later tell ya conscience,
"see ya later",
'Fraid to see the neighbours cause the stories in the papers -
Sayin' you a baby slayin' mother from another planet,
Cause you planned it from the start,
A bullet to the heart,
Woulda' hurt lot less than the stress from this sticky situation,
Sammy's graduation,
First walk,
First talk,
First man,
First base,
Thinkin' like this leaves the worst taste in my mouth,
I'm about to blow a gasket,
I bet they don't even make caskets that size,
Mama woulda never had me,
There's a reason why I don't know my daddy,
But I remain savvy,
Communicate - telepathy,
I don't know if I'm good enough,
I just know I want it badly.
