So many rappers out there only trying to brag

Raining all of their bills, waving their money in their bags

What happens when a baby's only dressed up in rags

Got no home, a single mom cuz he ain't got a dad?

And we stand and watch and laugh, so glad it isn't us

No hands to be that staff, have we really lost our hearts?

What about that veteran with that trauma stress disorder?

He can't even sleep at night, but if he could he can't afford to

Cuz he's living homeless in his sickness, and he's dead broke

He forgave us for our ignorance though he bled for us

What happened to that mamma that's locked up in that jail?

She's still feeling so shocked cuz the law isn't fair

That she failed to fight back her wild and crazy husband

Now her baby's got brain damage, can't do nothing about it

So she screams and shouts it, but ain't nobody listen

Too caught up in ourselves focused on our own missions

Someone tell me what happened to the middle east

The sky is black, streets are red, to say the least

Churches bombed, families gone, people kill for a hobby

Only thing we do is eat the news, we feast on dead bodies

My friend skipped out on church there one day and saw the news

That church is now in ashes, up in smoke, all cuz of a ruse

And the abuse people suffer, but we turn a blind eye

Don't want no blues, we look away as a daddy says good bye

We're only tightening the noose cuz we're slaves to ourselves

You choose an early grave when you put you on a shelf

Make you the number one, can't take shots without a gun

Can't move on when you've been stunned, no more sleeping, gotta run

 

What happened to this world, it's a dog eat dog

Are my prayers being heard? Where are you God?!

He's the hope and the reason that many of us are breathing

We're the ones who wrecked this world, you better believe it
