What kind of lives are we living/

when we cant be forgiving/

when all we care about is winning/

with sin our actions are dripping/

our minds are slipping/

our souls are ripping/

why is it when we are pissed/

our thoughts go straight to hitting and killing humans used to be so strong/

we lost our minds and now we are living wrong/

we've been screwing this shit up ever since mans dawn/

I fear now its too late/

that the curtain is being drawn/

 

we are just deaf to the song of the swan

our chance to reclaim it will soon be gone

the fight for our spirit can still be won

our lives are just one long con

 

we obsess over stupid shit/

like looks, money, technology and fucking politics/

when we should be focusing on things like books, love, community and human beings/

 

sometimes I want off this ride/

Even tried to punch my own ticket/

with a slit of the wrist I tried to exit/

while I was waiting to bleed out a voice said wait a minute/

its not your time you fucking idiot/

 

our minds need to be shaken/

so that all of us can be awakened/

before our chance is stripped from us, snatched and taken
