I've been burning the candle at both ends for a week

drowning in substances that make it difficult to speak

on the inside, I'm tryna pull my pull myself out of this pit

telling myself that i should appreciate the life that I live

but it's hard

when i turn on the tv station

I see children die at schools in every state in the nation

and the state of the nation is deteriorating like the market

I'm scared one day my kids may not have a dad to walk with

I'm not saying that I plan on dying young

I'm just saying That I could because of stupid shit I've done

Of stupid shit I've seen

people dying every day

it may be a bullet or cancer to take the one's you love away

I've had a branch on my family tree fall to the ground

because he couldn't take the pain of having nobody around

I've seen good men turn evil at the click of a mouse

telling 16 year olds to bring a condom to his house

I hate to see my people killed.

walking down the street I see children without homes

freezing in the snow without a sweatshirt or a coat

I saw my friend die in front of my eyes

It showed me time is numbered and made me contemplate life
