pain

it started with a thump in my chest

and proceeded to an unwanted guest

the man checked my pulse

he said boy that was close

and if you could see the shock in my eye

i swear i almost died

the feeling gone in my legs

i felt trapped like an animal in a cage

my finger tips were cold

and if I'd be so bold

i believe my heart did stop

and that line on the meter went plop!

a moan came from my mouth

before i knew i even let it out

blood dripped from my head

and slipped onto the red stained bed

my stomach flexed

my body tired without rest

the sweat painted on my face

i felt like i was unconsciously trying to escape from a maze

the blood all through my body was over heated

and just for a moment i felt defeated

i was over obliged

to just lay down and die

but my determination overcame that temptation

and without warning a feeling of abomination

arose in my heart the pain i felt began to tare me apart

but that was not the end but the start

i won't ever be held down

i will never hit the ground

i've played that role before

but i'm telling you no more

that pain in my chest

i won't let it get the best

of me you'll see

cause pain is but a feeling

and i plan on concealing

the pain
