10yr Anniversary

If i could id say i love you to your face,

Hug you, kiss you and tell ya that you can never be replaced,

But its too late now that your body been erased,

Wasted my chance, now its my regrets is that im faced,

A farmer and fisher guess a jack of all trades,

A father and husband the memory that never fades,

shit its been a decade since you were takin' by the sea,

remember being in school wondering what the commotion could be,

Went missing at 8am but found at 8pm shit nearly drove me crazy,

So even tho your body is gone your soul will live on through me,

 

Remember following the hearse, mom dressed in black,

Your casket draped with the irish flag while you lay in the back,

Crossing the strand toward your final resting place,

Broke down knowing your wake was the last time id see your face,

Staring into a hole putting dirt on the strongest man i ever known,

Harsh at times but it showed me how to hold my own,

Truth is id throw away my future just to see you one more day,

to have conversation and let you know that we're okay,

I miss you everyday that your resting in peace,

But its a blessing to me your no longer stressing and finally free,
