Outlaw

Outlaw walks into old saloon,

stench of whiskey and cigars filling up the room,

sees Pete, a man unseen in many moons,

put his family in the tomb so now Pete is doomed.

He walks over to the table tosses down a silver dollar

he says you tried to cut down my tree, but it grew taller

I will avenge my 7 brothers and my seven sisters too

Walked out through the front with something to do

town lined up, you know the scene, 10 paces

turned around and shots fired, clean

now the Outlaw saw that Pete was hit,

kicked dirt in the wound, left lickety split

left town satisfied with his revenge

 

 

Now Pete he roamed in a group of nine,

Bandits, robbing leaving blood and sobbing behind,

saw Pete's corpse and got a taste of the tears

said revenge is now, and revenge is here

Meanwhile outlaw rode through to the next town

over about 3 hours out found a place and set down

in the dusty room, took a bible out from the drawer

Flipped it open, found the page was on Psalm 4

Lays down in peace and sleeps while outlaws creep

saw the tracks of the horse and knew what was to be.

Leader by the name of Cactus Cal walks in alone,

Innkeepers daughter at the bar, her name is Sal,

he takes out a colt and says where'd he go?

She puts here hands in the air and says "I dunno."

Old man drinking at the bar looks over, from the civil war,

former Union Soldier, Cal sees that shit, you got someting to say?

Stays calm says please put the gun away, Cal says okay but empties

three clips three hits, one head one chest one leg, the soldier slumps

He says so how's it gonna be? Outlaw awoken by all this commotion,

grabs a revolver by his bedside decides to make his motions

opens the door hides right outside the corridor up the stairs

right on the second floor, sees on the stairs takes a shot and

misses feels a bullet and next thing there is is death's kisses
